THE BEATLES AND WALES

By David Jones

The Beatles and WalesA wealth of original source material is contained in the book, along with previously unpublished eye-witness accounts of the group. Links between Wales and the group throughout its career and after the split of its members are featured, including accounts of concerts and other appearances in Wales. The book also contains many photographs and pictures of the group and rare items of Beatles memorabilia. The Beatles’ links with Wales include:
• Allan Williams - a Welshman and the Beatles’ first ever manager
• Cardiff’s Capitol Theatre – the venue for their last-ever UK concert
• Bangor – the place where transcendental meditation was first encountered by the group, also where they were on hearing of the death of Brian Epstein

The Beatles and Wales will appeal to all Beatles fans, offering a new insight into the life of the group and its legacy.

Not only was Wales the home of thousands of fans, it also had a significant influence on the life of the group, details of which are highlighted in this, the first book on the Beatles and Wales.

“Like a ticket collector on a Magical Mystery Tour, Jones takes us on a voyage of discovery across Wales…gives today’s fans a chance to relive the Swinging Sixties in Wales” Western Mail

“Its all here…fascinating archive material”
HONK – The Welsh Music Foundation
