Johnny Gentle and The Beatles
First Ever Tour

Johnny Gentle and The Beatles First Ever TourJohnny Gentle can lay claim to being the only person to have had The Beatles as his backing band on tour. While he never went on to have any major chart success, he toured with The Beatles for nine days, and this book recalls that historic time.

Big-Time Paul McCartney would say many years later "It was an important period for solidifying the band and getting our relationships strong with each other…..and I suppose it prepared us for what was to come. We loved it and it was invaluable experience for us."

This book opens with Johnny Gentle, an up and coming pop star, making records and appearing on teen magazines, and dreaming of the big-time, something he would never accomplish.

It tells of how they met only one hour before their first gig, and how their friendship grew over this short time. It’s a story of humour and tragedy and includes many interesting facts.

Did you know that Johnny’s birth date is that of the day John was killed; that they wrote a song together called ‘I’ve Just Fallen For Someone’ and that he could have prevented Eddie Cochran from being killed in a car-crash.

No lies, no bull, no unnecessary chapters just exactly everything that happened. Packed with photographs and a brief history of everybody associated with that time, it’s a fascinating read and as it says on the cover ‘You won’t be able to put down this book until you’ve turned the last page.’

Having read it once, you’ll want to read it again, it’s that interesting. Certainly the best Beatle book I’ve read in years.
